2023 Interim Meeting of the HOD: Nov. 6 Speakers' Update

| 2 Min Read

As the 2023 Interim Meeting is quickly approaching, we are providing a few important updates in preparation for the meeting. Please review carefully and as always if you have any questions contact us at [email protected].

Reference committee preliminary documents

The reference committee preliminary documents are now posted on the HOD Interim Meeting page. As a reminder, the reference committee preliminary documents include anticipated actions based on online forum testimony in order to inform the discussion at the in-person hearings, but the original report or resolution remains the topic for discussion at the in-person hearing. The comments from the online forums will continue to be available for your reference through the conclusion of the in-person hearings.

Proposed time limits on debate

As you begin preparing testimony, please be aware that the Rules and Credentials Committee is proposing a 90-second limit on testimony before the House. Reference committee chairs will establish either a two-minute or 90-second limit on testimony in reference committee hearings based on their assessment of business before their respective committees.

Reminder of two important sessions

We encourage everyone to attend the Resolutions Modification Task Force open hearing at 10 a.m. Sunday and the Advocacy Update at 1 p.m. Sunday. Both sessions will be held in the Maryland ballroom.

Speakers’ Letter updates

There have been minor updates to the Speakers’ Letter (PDF). The most recent update includes revised session times and an updated link to claim CME.

Access HOD live streamed sessions

If you are unable to attend the Annual Meeting in person, we will be providing live streaming for all HOD sessions and reference committee hearings. The links are accessible through the meeting page.
