Learn to treat a common diabetes complication, get CME

| 1 Min Read

Painful diabetic neuropathy is a common complication of type 2 diabetes and can severely limit patients' daily functions. With the percentage of Americans with diabetes more than doubling in the past two decades, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it’s especially important to know how to manage the disease’s complications, and a continuing medical education (CME) activity can help.

Peripheral diabetic neuropathy develops in more than 50 percent of patients who have diabetes. “Therapeutic Insights - Managing Painful Diabetic Neuropathy” is a free newsletter hosted by the AMA Online Learning Center that will cover:

  • The typical pathophysiology and clinical syndrome comprising painful diabetic neuropathy
  • The complicating and clinical risk factors for painful diabetic neuropathy
  • Strategies for the appropriate diagnosis of painful diabetic neuropathy
  • Clinical practice guidelines for the treatment of painful diabetic neuropathy

The activity offers 0.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
