The AMA Profiles Hub offers physicians and credentialing specialists a secure means to access professional data.
All physicians—MDs and DOs—can access and review their AMA Profile for free. Profile reflect the most current information recorded within AMA Physician Professional Data™ and may be used by organizations that a physician has authorized to verify their credentials for the purpose of licensing, privileging, or payer enrollment.
To make this process more seamless, the AMA is updating the platform. With that transformation comes a more dynamic, online solution for physicians to securely maintain their professional data.
New features
The transformation of the AMA Profiles Hub was based on feedback from physicians and focuses on enhanced usability. New features include:
Improved delivery to licensing boards
Completing a send-to-board order ends with secure and immediate delivery of AMA Profiles to the licensing board’s AMA Profiles account. Licensing boards will also receive daily notification of such delivery.
My Professional Portfolio
Gone is the slow experience of downloading an AMA Physician Profile Self-Inquiry PDF to view data. Introducing "My Professional Portfolio"—a more dynamic way to manage and store professional credentials data. The secure online portfolio will receive regular updates of expirable information made possible by AMA sourcing this data from primary sources such as medical licensing boards, DEA, medical schools, ACGME-accredited training programs, the American Board of Medical Specialties, and more. Physicians may add more professional data, such as work history and medical malpractice information, so that their data is available in one secure, digital location. Use of My Professional Portfolio is free for all physicians.
Document Library
This new feature offers a dedicated location to securely upload and store certificates, curriculum vitae, professional photos, medical malpractice coverage sheets, and all other forms of documentation related to a physician's career. Use of Document Library is free to all physicians.
Accessing the site
Physicians will be automatically redirected from the current AMA Profiles Hub to the new site when the new site launches. An email will be sent in advance to physicians who have accessed their AMA Physician Profile Self-Inquiry since 2023. Each individual user’s existing AMA login credentials will work seamlessly on the new site.
Onboarding tools
Once logged on the new site, tools will be available to help users navigate the site. These tools include:
- Site tour: Quick tips pop-up when first visiting a new section of the site.
- Education center: A dedicated section with short video walkthroughs, illustrated how-to guides, and searchable FAQs.
- Contact us: File an online support ticket for product questions or site issues.
