On Sept. 25 at 11:45 a.m. Central, the Women Physicians Section (WPS) will sponsor a webinar looking at how times of crisis can exacerbate the distinct challenges and burdens faced by women.

The convergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, systemic discrimination and gender inequity can have ramifications for women in medicine. Learn about how leadership in adverse situations can positively influence individuals and communities.

  • Renée Crichlow, MD, presenter, director of advocacy and policy and assistant professor, University of Minnesota School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine and Community Health; immediate past president of the Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians; and Mac Baird Endowed Chair in Family Medicine Advocacy and Policy. Dr. Crichlow is one of the founding members of The Ladder, a cascading mentorship program in North Minneapolis.
  • Anita Ravi, MD, MPH, MSHP, moderator, vice-chair of the WPS Governing Council, Young Physicians Section representative on the WPS, board-certified family medicine physician, public health scientist and nationally renowned expert in the area of gender-based violence and trauma-informed care. Dr. Ravi is the co-founder and CEO of the PurpLE Health Foundation.
