AMA Women Physicians Section Associate Appointment Form

The AMA Women Physicians Section (WPS) Associates Network provides opportunities for members to exchange ideas and work together on issues that impact women physicians and patients. Through the WPS Associates Network, representatives can connect through policy discussions, educational seminars, and professional development sessions.

Each medical society represented in the AMA House of Delegates can designate two representatives for the WPS Associates Network. Participating societies can build connections with other organizations that support women in medicine while gaining access to important updates and resources. Become a part of the WPS Associates today!

Each participating organization will be entitled to 2 representatives who are:

  • An AMA member in good standing
  • Demonstrate interest in issues impacting women physicians and women's health
  • Organizations include: (1) medical societies that have voting representation in the AMA House of Delegates or (2) AMA Sections and Advisory Committee.

WPS Associates are asked to:

  • Attend WPS Associate meetings held in conjunction with the Annual and Interim Meetings of the AMA House of Delegates
  • Participate in the WPS policy making process (e.g., volunteer for AMA-HOD handbook review or develop policy through resolution writing)
  • Exchange relevant information between the AMA-WPS and the Associate’s organizations
  • Join in efforts to advance women into leadership positions
  • Support September Women in Medicine Month activities
