Medical Student Section Representative,
Women Physicians Section (WPS) Governing Council

Minali Prasad, BA, a research fellow at the National Eye Institute and medical student at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, serves as the Medical Student Section representative of the Women Physicians Section Governing Council for the 2023-2024 term.

The WPS is a member interest group within the AMA for women physicians and medical students. The section governing council is responsible for increasing the membership, participation and leadership of women in the AMA as well as advocating on women’s health and women in medicine policy issues.

Prasad is a graduate of Boston University. Locally, she is the co-founder of several student organizations, including the Boston Student Sight Savers, the Ultrasound is for Everyone Elective, and the BUCASM Trauma Informed Care Task Force. She is also the community service chair for the Massachusetts Medical Society Governing Council and previously served on the MSS Community Service Committee.
