The AMA House of Delegates will hold its 2022 Annual Meeting from June 10-15.

The Annual Meeting of the HOD is taking place June 10-15 in Chicago. Advance registration is required.

Meetings of the AMA groups (sections) are usually held on Friday and Saturday immediately preceding the HOD’s opening session at both Annual and Interim meetings. The groups (sections) will meet June 9-10.

June 2022 Section Meetings

The June 2022 Section Meetings are being held June 9-10. Pre-registration is required.

Special student pricing

Cancellations:

Your individual deposit is refundable if notice is received at least 48 hours days prior to arrival or the hotel obtains your one-night deposit fee. Cancellations may be made online using your first name, last name and reservation confirmation number or credit card number. Your details will be sent securely. You can also call 1-800-233-1234 to cancel directly.

The Board of Trustees recently adopted a health and safety protocol that will be in place for the meeting. Please be aware that this protocol is the minimum requirement while noting that the Board continues to monitor the environment and may implement more stringent requirements as the meeting approaches.

This protocol applies to all attendees, including section members, delegates, alternate delegates and all guests.

Camp AMA

Camp AMA is open to children ages 6 month –17 years of age. Children participate in age-appropriate activities including arts and crafts projects, active games and much more in a safe, nurturing environment. This is a complimentary service offered by the AMA. However, meals are not included in the program. Parents can purchase lunch through registration or send or bring lunch to the center.

At registration, please review the health requirements for children attending Camp AMA. To assure that your child has a place, register by May 20, 2022, 5 p.m. Central.   Register now.

Jack Resneck, Jr. MD, will be inaugurated as the 177th president of the AMA on June 14.

The inaugural ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. in the Crystal Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Attire is business/cocktail. Black tie is optional for the evening.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, guests are invited to the Grand Hall for cocktail hour at 6:45 p.m. The inaugural reception dinner and dance, which has taken on a new format, will follow. Dinner will now feature several themed food stations and open, reception-style seating—without assigned tables. With this format change, guests may more easily visit friends and colleagues, while also enjoying a variety of dishes.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., the internationally renowned band, Maggie Speaks, will perform live. Cash bars will be available from 8:30-10:30 p.m.

Wristbands, rather than tickets, will serve as proof of purchase to attend the event. The price for each wristband is $110.00. Wristbands are required and must be purchased prior to the June 3 deadline.

Individuals should coordinate reservations and payment with their sponsoring organization prior to purchase. There will be no on-site wristband sales.

The AMA meeting app will provide comprehensive information about meeting activities and events. With the app attendees will be able to:

  • Access the event schedule and customize their agenda
  • Check the list of exhibitors and use an interactive map to locate their booths
  • Get important updates through push notifications
  • Network with other attendees and share contact information
