Dhruv Puri, a medical student at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, serves as vice chair of the Medical Student Section (MSS) Governing Council for the 2023-2024 term.
The MSS is a member interest group within the AMA for medical students. The governing council is responsible for directing MSS efforts at the national level to improve medical education and advocate for the future of medicine.
Puri has been a member of the AMA since 2021 serving as chair for the Committee on Global & Public Health as well as the Region 1 delegation chair for the MSS.
