LGBTQ+ Section leadership opportunities

Applicants for LGBTQ+ Section leadership opportunities should self-identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and/or queer; allies are also eligible. Applicants should have LGBTQ health expertise and/or experience in care delivery, clinical practice, research, policy, education and/or advocacy.

LGBTQ+ Section Governing Council

The strategy and activities of the LGBTQ+ Section are directed by a nine-member governing council elected by section membership. 

The next LGBTQ+ Section Governing Council elections will be held in April 2026 for multiple positions:

  • Delegate
  • Alternate delegate
  • Member at-large
  • Medical Student Section (MSS) liaison
  • GLMA liaison
