Elisa Choi, MD

Elisa Choi, MD, FACP, FIDSA, board-certified in both internal medicine and infectious diseases and on the faculty at Harvard Medical School, serves as member at-large on the WPS Governing Council for the 2023-2025 term.

The WPS is a member interest group within the AMA for women physicians and medical students. The section governing council is responsible for increasing the membership, participation and leadership of women in the AMA as well as advocating on women’s health and women in medicine policy issues.

Dr. Choi has served on AMA’s HOD Rules and Reference Committee. She is immediate past chair of the American College of Physicians’ (ACP) Board of Governors (BOG), immediate past governor of Massachusetts ACP Chapter, and became the first Asian American female and first woman elected to those two leadership roles, respectively. Also, she is on the ACP’s delegation to AMA’s HOD and is chief of internal medicine in her practice.
