Laurie Lapp, a medical student at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, serves as alternate delegate of the Medical Student Section (MSS) Governing Council for the 2023-2024 term.

The MSS is a member interest group within the AMA for medical students. The governing council is responsible for directing MSS efforts at the national level to improve medical education and advocate for the future of medicine.

Lapp has been a member of the AMA since 2020 serving in local chapter leadership, MSS standing committee leadership and region delegation. She has also served as an alternate delegate for the Wisconsin Medical Society (WMS) and is the current WMS MSS chair.
