The Underrepresented in Medicine Advocacy Section (UMAS) addresses the issues and concerns of underrepresented minority physicians and improving the health of minority populations.
Responsibilities
- Participate in monthly teleconferences
- Attend three in-person meetings per year (including Annual and Interim Meetings)
- Review resolutions and determine policy priorities
- Support section activities (e.g., Doctors Back to School™ program)
- Serve on the Underrepresented in Medicine Award selection committee
Term of service
One year, commencing in June.
