Yasmin Alamdeen Shahzada, a member of the Medical Student Section (MSS) of the AMA, is a student representative on the Underrepresented in Medicine Advocacy Section (UMAS) Governing Council.

The MSS is a member interest group within the AMA for medical students. The governing council is responsible for directing MSS efforts at the national level to improve medical education and advocate for the future of medicine.

Alamdeen Shahzada earned her bachelor’s degree in humanities and psychology at Yale University and is currently a medical student at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.
