RSV vaccine recommendations during pregnancy
Current recommendations
A single dose of Pfizer’s bivalent RSVpreF vaccine (Abrysvo) is recommended using seasonal administration, to prevent RSV lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI) in infants for eligible pregnant individuals meeting the following criteria:
- are between 32 0/7 and 36 6/7 weeks of gestation between September 1 and March 1,
- do not have a planned delivery within 2 weeks,
- did not receive the maternal RSV vaccine during a previous pregnancy, and
- are not planning to have their infant receive a monoclonal antibody, nirsevimab or clesrovimab.

Current recommendations
During RSV season patients are recommended to receive the RSV vaccine to protect their infants after birth. Patients should receive the vaccine when they are between 32 and 36 weeks pregnant between September 1 and March 1 as long as they do not have a planned delivery within two weeks; they did not receive the maternal RSV vaccine during a previous pregnancy; and if they are not planning to have their infant receive a monoclonal antibody, (nirsevimab or clesrovimab).
