The AMA Research Challenge is the largest national, multi-specialty medical research conference for medical students, residents and fellows, and international medical graduates to showcase and present research.

Five finalists presented their research at the 2022 finals. Leelabati Biswas, a MD/PhD Candidate from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, was selected the winner and was awarded the grand prize of $10,000, sponsored by Laurel Road.

Marielisa Cabrera-Sánchez was the overall winner of the 2021 AMA Research Challenge and was awarded the grand prize of $10,000, sponsored by Laurel Road.

Victoria Danan and Shamsh Shaikh were announced on Jan. 13, 2021, as co-winners of the first AMA Research Challenge.
