Breaking down data on the AAPI community to improve health equity

The Center for Health Equity report of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) data disaggregation lays out an historical overview of the politicizing of the AAPI community for the purpose of distributing federal resources based on need as determined by federal data collection efforts.

This report also outlines what current federal, state, local, as well as private and non-government associated data efforts entail and the limitations associated with current efforts.

The report re-emphasizes the need for continued surveillance of data collection initiatives, and greater granularity of data collection, pertaining to AAPI communities in the U.S. and its territories.
