Hans Arora, MD, PhD, is a board-certified pediatric urologist who serves as the member at-large of the Young Physicians Section (YPS) Governing Council for the 2023-2024 term.
The YPS is a member interest group within the AMA for physicians under 40 years of age or within the first eight years of professional practice after residency and fellowship training. The governing council is responsible for enhancing young physicians’ practice of medicine, including the transition into practice and facilitating the participation of young physicians in policy development.
Dr. Arora is an assistant professor of urology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is co-director of quality for the department of urology, and director of robotic surgery in pediatric urology.
Dr. Arora continues to be a passionate leader in organized medicine. He currently serves as chair of the urology section council of the AMA Specialty & Services Society (SSS) and president-elect of the Durham-Orange County Medical Society.
