Sarah Mae Smith, MD, PhD, serves as the delegate of the Resident & Fellow Section Governing Council for the 2026-2027 term.
The RFS is a member interest group within the AMA to provide resident and fellow participation in the activities of the AMA and gives a voice to and advocates for issues that impact them.
Dr. Smith is a neurological surgery resident at the University of California-Irvine. She has been actively involved in organized medicine since medical school and served on the AMA Board of Trustees.
