Shannon Zullo, MD, a dermatology resident at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), holds the position of chair, alternate delegate and Resident & Fellow Section representative on the Minority Affairs Section Governing Council at the American Medical Association.

The MAS is a member interest group within the AMA dedicated to addressing the issues and concerns of underrepresented minority physicians and improving the health of minority populations.

Raised on the Navajo reservation, Dr. Zullo is an enrolled member of her tribe and one of the few reservation-born physicians in the country. She received her medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine after completing a master's degree pathway program for rural minority students (P-MAP). Dr. Zullo is passionate about improving disparities in medicine. She serves on the American Academy of Dermatology’s Diversity Champion Workshop Council, and is an avid researcher in dermatologic health care disparities, skin cancer, and the psychosocial effects of disease and treatment.
