Section Interim Meetings

Register for the 2022 Section Interim Meetings being held Nov. 10–11 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Registration is required for all attendees.

All attendees must attest during the registration process that they have at least completed the primary series vaccination and one booster. Attendees are strongly encouraged to be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccinations (per CDC recommendations in effect on Sept. 2, 2022) as authorized or approved by the Food and Drug Administration, or for international guests, the World Health Organization.

  • Medical exemptions will be honored.
  • No other exemptions will be allowed.

The MSS offers a limited number of travel grants to increase participation in the MSS national meetings by medical students who are underrepresented and disadvantaged in medicine, and to provide more leadership and networking opportunities for these students. Application deadline was Sept.1, 2022.

    Important deadlines have been established leading up to the MSS Interim Meeting:

    • July 25: MSS Open Forum opens
    • Aug. 18: MSS Open Forum closes
    • Aug. 31: Draft resolutions due
    • Sept. 22: Final resolutions due
    • Oct. 3: Virtual Reference Committee opens
    • Oct. 17: Virtual Reference Committee closes
    • Nov. 8: Virtual extractions due

    Visit the MSS Virtual Reference Committee page to review and comment on policy proposals that will be discussed at the meeting. Items will be posted as they become available. The deadline to submit comments for consideration by the MSS reference committee is Oct. 18 at 1:59 a.m. Central time.

    Governing council and Board of Trustee elections

    At the 2022 Interim Meeting, the MSS Assembly will elect two leadership positions:

    • MSS Governing Council chair-elect
    • Student member of the AMA Board of Trustees

    Applications, which are available on the medical student leadership opportunities page, are due Oct. 7 at 1:59 a.m. Central time.

    Medical student regional delegate elections

    Elected by the MSS regions at each interim meeting, medical student regional delegates and alternate delegates represent the interests of medical students in the HOD.

    Applications, which are available on the medical student leadership opportunities page, are due Oct. 7 at 1:59 a.m. Central time.
