AMA House of Delegates process for submitting a resolution

UPDATED . 2 MIN READ

The HOD office is now accepting resolution submissions for the 2024 Annual Meeting of the AMA House of Delegates. Given the large volume of business that has been processed over the last several meetings, the HOD office has updated its resolution submission protocol and informs delegations that submission deadlines will be strictly enforced.

Per AMA bylaw 2.11.3.1, “To be considered as regular business, each resolution must be introduced by a delegate or organization represented in the House of Delegates.”If a resolution is submitted by anyone other than a delegate or organization represented in the HOD, it will not be accepted by the HOD office.

  • April 24, 2024, 5 p.m. Central: Resolutions from meetings* held prior to April 1, 2024
  • May 8, 2024, 5 p.m. Central: Resolutions from meetings* held April 1–May 1, 2024

All resolutions received by these deadlines, minus any exempted submissions, will be posted to the online forums for review and comments during the 14-day window currently required by policy.

*Bylaw 2.11.3.1.1 defines meetings to include any member organization’s house of delegates meeting or primary policy making body’s meeting, as defined by the organization.

A resolution template, sample, and instructions are provided for resolution submissions.

Submit the completed resolution to [email protected]. The HOD office will send a confirmation email upon receipt of the submission.

  • The HOD office will not format or edit resolution submissions
  • Resolutions that do not adhere to the template will be returned to the sponsor for editing
  • Submit resolutions as soon as possible to allow time for review of proper formatting prior to the deadline
  • No resolution edits/corrections will be accepted after the submission deadline
