Submit a resolution for the 2025 Interim Meeting

The Office of the House of Delegates is now accepting resolution submissions for the 2025 Interim Meeting of the AMA House of Delegates.

Resolution submission deadline

As a result of HOD action at the 2024 Annual Meeting and changes to AMA bylaw 2.11.3, please take note of important deadlines and information concerning the submission of HOD resolutions:

On-time deadline: Sept. 30, 2025, noon Central

  • Resolution submissions must be approved for proper formatting and approved by the AMA Office of General Counsel prior to the Sept. 30, 2025, noon Central deadline, to be considered on-time.
  • For the Interim Meeting, all resolutions are additionally referred to the Resolution Committee to determine whether they meet the criteria for inclusion (advocacy/ethics) or are of an urgent nature.
  • All resolution submissions approved for acceptance by the on-time deadline will be posted to the Online Reference Committees for review and comment.
  • Submit finalized resolutions to [email protected]. The HOD office will send a confirmation email upon receipt of the submission.

AMA section exception

  • Resolutions adopted and forwarded by the AMA section meetings held after the Sept. 30 on-time deadline and prior to the HOD opening session on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, are excepted.
  • Resolutions will be distributed in the Meeting Tote posted on Saturday morning prior to the second session of the HOD.
  • These resolutions will not be included in the Online Reference Committees but will be reviewed at the in-person reference committee hearings.

Resolution documents & guidelines

A resolution template, sample, and instructions are provided for resolution submissions.

Important reminders for submitting a resolution:

  • The HOD office will not format or edit resolution submissions
  • Resolutions that do not adhere to the template will be returned to the sponsor for editing
  • Submit resolutions as soon as possible to allow time for review of proper formatting prior to the deadline
  • No resolution edits/corrections will be accepted after the on-time submission deadline

Per AMA bylaw 2.11.3.1, “To be considered as regular business, each resolution must be introduced by a delegate or organization represented in the House of Delegates.” If a resolution is submitted by anyone other than a delegate or organization represented in the HOD, it will not be accepted by the HOD office.
