Group endorsement form
As indicated in the June 28 speakers' update, all groups (caucuses, specialty section councils, SSS, AMA sections, etc.) that plan to endorse candidates for the 2026 AMA Annual Meeting election cycle will be required to submit a Group endorsement form. This form requires the responsible party’s contact information as well as details regarding the group’s endorsement process. This information will be disseminated via our AMA elections page. 2026 Annual Meeting candidates may only be endorsed by groups who are on this list. The completed form must be submitted to the HOD office by Friday, Oct. 11, 2024* at 5 p.m. Central.

Endorsement rule
Pursuant to action at the 2024 Annual Meeting, a new endorsement process will be implemented beginning with the 2026 Annual Meeting election cycle. Any group wishing to endorse candidates must submit their endorsement process, endorsement eligibility criteria and the group’s responsible party’s contact information to the HOD office to be posted on the AMA elections page. Interested eligible candidates will be responsible to contact the group to participate in the group’s process.
Groups may choose which candidates to endorse during the endorsement window for each election cycle. The endorsement window will open at 6 a.m. local time on the Friday of the interim meeting 19 months prior, and will close at 5 p.m. Central on the Friday of the annual meeting one year prior to the election. This will allow candidates to include endorsements on their announcement card to be projected at the close of the annual meeting one year in advance of the election, per our current rules.
Note: This rule will be enforced for the 2026 Annual Meeting election cycle, not for the 2025 Annual Meeting elections. A form is not needed for those groups giving endorsements for the 2025 Annual Meeting but will be required for 2026 Annual Meeting endorsements. We realize that this means that there may be an overlap or adjustments made to accommodate both 2025 Annual Meeting and 2026 Annual Meeting endorsements.

- Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, 5 p.m. Central―Group endorsement form due to HOD office
- Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, 6 a.m. Eastern―endorsement window opens
- Friday, June 6, 2025, 5 p.m. Central―endorsement window closes
