The 2026 Annual Meeting of the AMA House of Delegates will be held Friday, June 5 through Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. We encourage you to regularly check the AMA HOD Annual Meeting page which will be updated as information becomes available. As always, if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected].
A-26 HOD Delegate Handbook
The 2026 Annual Meeting HOD Delegate Handbook is now posted on the AMA HOD Annual Meeting page. All items of business that were received by the April 21 on-time resolution deadline are included. It is posted in smaller documents collated by reference committee and will be posted as a single large document next week. An abridged handbook containing only the recommendations from reports and the resolve clauses from resolutions is also available as an OpenDocument Format spreadsheet which can be transferred to a Google sheet, Excel, or other formats as desired.
Late (received after the April 21 deadline) and AMA section-excepted resolutions will be distributed in the meeting tote at the annual meeting on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
Online Reference Committees
The A-26 Online Reference Committees (ORCs) will open Thursday, April 30, at 5 p.m. Central and can be accessed from the AMA HOD Annual Meeting page once available. All AMA members may comment on the ORC, and it is hoped a robust discussion will ensue. Authors are encouraged to comment as early as possible after the ORC opens. All posts should begin with the information listed below IN ALL CAPS. Posts that are not appropriately identified will be removed.
- NAME
- CURRENT ROLES (E.G. AUTHOR, HOD DELEGATE OR ALTERNATE FROM X DELEGATION, SECTION MEMBER, COUNCIL MEMBER, ETC.)
- FOR WHOM YOU ARE SPEAKING (AS AN INDIVIDUAL OR ON BEHALF OF A GROUP)
The ORCs will close for general comment on Wednesday, May 20, at 5 p.m. Central. Authors may continue to comment until Thursday, May 21, at 5 p.m. Central. Any non-author posts made after the May 20 deadline will be deleted.
Preliminary reference committee reports
Preliminary reference committee reports will be developed by your reference committees following the close of the ORCs. These reports will include preliminary recommendations; therefore, AMA members are strongly encouraged to provide comments in the ORCs. Preliminary reports will be posted on Friday, May 29, by 5 p.m. Central.
After a successful pilot at I-25, reference committee agendas for the in-person reference committee hearings will once again be handled as a consent agenda. The reference committee chair will call for items that need further debate to be extracted from the agenda at the beginning of the reference committee hearing. All items that do not have a preliminary recommendation (late and excepted-section resolutions) will be automatically extracted and discussed. The agenda will follow the same order as the preliminary report with all additional items (late and excepted-section resolutions) heard at the end of the agenda.
Late resolution submission reminder
Resolutions submitted after the April 21 on-time deadline are considered late, with the exception of AMA section resolutions adopted after this deadline. Any late resolutions must be submitted prior to the start of the HOD opening session set to begin Friday, June 5, at 6 p.m. Central. Late resolutions will be reviewed by the Committee on Rules and Credentials. Late resolutions require a two-third majority vote by the House to be considered.
Visit this page for information on submitting resolutions. Urgent resolutions that have been adopted by your group since the on-time deadline should be submitted as soon as possible.
