Pursuant to HOD Policy, we are providing the Official Candidate Notification (PDF) for the 2024 AMA elections, current as of Jan. 16, 2024. Individuals considering becoming a candidate for any of the existing open or potential newly open positions are encouraged to send an email with an electronic announcement card to [email protected] notifying us of your intention to be a candidate.

The newly consolidated election policy has been uploaded to AMA PolicyFinder and is posted on the HOD election webpage. Per the recommendation adopted at the 2023 Interim Meeting, policies G-610.010, Nominations; G-610.020, Rules for AMA Elections; G-610.021, Guiding Principles for House Elections; G-610.030, Election Process; and D-610.998, Election Task Force as amended, have been combined into one policy entitled, “AMA Election Rules and Guiding Principles.” This newly formed HOD policy G-610.090 will govern the elections for the 2024 Annual Meeting. Your speakers will be sending out a communication to all candidates and campaign teams in the near future with further information about the elections.

The AMA 2024 budget information is now available to members of the House of Delegates upon request through Jan. 31. If you would like a copy of this year’s budget, send your request to [email protected]. Please note that the document is available only to members of the House and should be treated as confidential.

We encourage all delegates and alternates to consider volunteering to serve on House committees, including reference committees and rules and credentials, or as tellers at the 2024 Annual Meeting.

To apply for 2024 Annual Meeting positions, a new online application form should be submitted no later than April 5, 2024. We will no longer be accepting emailed applications. This new form will need to be submitted if you would like to be considered for service even if you have emailed forms for previous meetings. Preference will be given to volunteers who have not served at a recent meeting.

All reference committee volunteers must confirm their availability to meet virtually on the weekend prior to the opening session of the House to develop a preliminary document based on the online forum testimony. Those interested in serving as chair of a committee should indicate their desire to do so on the form.

Your RMTF met during the State Advocacy Summit and are preparing a report for the 2024 Annual Meeting. We appreciate all who testified at our open hearing at the 2023 Interim Meeting and who submitted comments to the RMTF email box. These comments were invaluable to us as we deliberated at our meeting. The RMTF mailbox ([email protected]) will be reopened after the report is posted for A-24 to receive your comments, questions or concerns regarding the report.
