AMA underscores importance of science, data in COVID-19 fight

 CHICAGO — In a national address today, American Medical Association (AMA) President Patrice A. Harris, M.D., M.A., highlighted the essential role that science and data play in protecting public health in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. The address, titled “COVID-19: The Importance of Science in an Era of Distrust and Disinformation,” focused on the need for evidence-based solutions and policies to build societal trust and a common understanding in combating COVID-19, including building universal recognition that individual action has community repercussions.
