The AMA Resident and Fellow Section (RFS) held its Annual meeting on Friday, June 5 in Chicago with nearly 100 residents and fellows representing 19 states and 24 specialty societies.
Business
The RFS Assembly considered 10 reports and 17 resolutions prompting robust discussion on important issues affecting trainees such as "Protecting Resident Physicians with Pending Immigration Status and Ensuring Safe Participation in Professional Activities"; "Bringing Physicians' Voices to the Implementation of AI Prescribers"; "Promoting Safety Through Revision of Resident Work Hour Limits"; "Recognition of Moral Injury in the Physician Workforce and Modernize the Medicare Primary Care Exception to Ensure Appropriate Reimbursement for Services Provided by Residents."
The Section immediately transmitted five resolutions to the House of Delegates for consideration at its June 2026 Meeting. Learn more about these and other policies considered by the AMA House of Delegates.

The RFS elected the following members to the 2026-2027 Governing Council:
