A note from the IMGS chair
September 2026
From IMGS Chair Deepu Sudhakaran, MD, MBA
This month, I encourage every international medical graduate to consider attending the AMA Distinguish Yourself Summit, Aug. 26-27, 2026 in Chicago. Whether you are a student, resident, fellow or practicing physician, this summit offers valuable opportunities for mentorship, leadership development, career guidance and networking with physicians who have successfully navigated the IMG journey.
The IMG Section is committed to supporting IMGs through advocacy, education, leadership and career development. We celebrate your achievements, but we also want to hear about the challenges you face. Your experiences help guide our priorities and strengthen our efforts to advocate for policies and programs that benefit IMGs and the patients we serve.
