| 5 Min Read

The 2025 Interim Meeting of the AMA House of Delegates will be held Nov. 14-18, 2025, at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. We encourage you to regularly check the HOD Interim Meeting page, which will be updated as information becomes available.

I-25 resolution submission

The deadline to submit resolutions for the 2025 Interim Meeting of the AMA House of Delegates is Sept. 30, 2025, at noon Central. All resolutions received and approved by this deadline will be considered on-time for this meeting. Visit the AMA House of Delegates process for submitting a resolution page for guidance and resources on how to submit a resolution.

Important resolution reminders:

  • The HOD office will not format resolution submissions.
  • Resolutions that do not adhere to the posted template will be returned to the sponsor for editing which must be completed prior to the on-time deadline.
  • All requested edits/corrections must also be made by the on-time deadline.
  • Resolutions adopted and forwarded by the AMA sections after this date are excepted and will be included in the meeting tote distributed at the meeting.
  • All on-time and excepted resolutions will be reviewed by the Resolution Committee to determine whether they meet the criteria (advocacy/ethics or are of an urgent nature) for inclusion at the interim meeting.

Note: It can take at least 24 hours for resolutions to be reviewed and approved for proper formatting and content after submission. Resolutions will not be accepted as on-time if any requested revisions have not been addressed by the sponsor by the stated deadline.

HOD Handbook and Online Reference Committees

The HOD Handbook will be posted no later than Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, at 8 a.m. Central. All reports and resolutions received by the on-time deadline will be included in the HOD Handbook.

Online Reference Committees (ORCs) will open on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, at 5 p.m. Central. All AMA members may comment on the ORC, and it is hoped a robust discussion will ensue. Authors are encouraged to comment as early as possible after the ORC opens. The ORCs will close for general comments on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, at 5 p.m. Central. Authors may continue to comment until Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, at 5 p.m. Central.

Preliminary reference committee reports

Preliminary reference committee reports, which will include preliminary recommendations, will be developed by your reference committees following the close of the ORCs. Preliminary reports will be posted on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, by 5 p.m. Central.

Reference committee hearings

As a pilot, to facilitate the in-person reference committee hearings at this meeting, the preliminary reference committee reports will be presented as a consent agenda. This means the agenda will be treated similarly to our HOD consent calendars. Only items extracted from the consent agenda will be discussed in the reference committee hearing. Note that all items under the heading, “Recommendation Not Yet Determined” (AMA section-excepted resolutions, resolutions previously recommended against consideration for an interim meeting and late resolutions that have been accepted for consideration at the second opening session) will be discussed and do not need to be extracted.

A-27 group endorsement

Groups that wish to publicly endorse A-27 candidates have until Oct. 6, 2025, at 5 p.m. Central to submit their Group Endorsement Form. This includes all delegations, caucuses, AMA sections, section councils and any other group in the AMA that is not able to sponsor a candidate. Candidates may only be sponsored by the HOD delegation on which they serve or last served prior to election as a trustee.

Note that state delegations that wish to endorse specialty candidates from their state and specialty delegations that wish to endorse a state candidate from that specialty must complete this form in order to do so.

If your group is not listed on the published list, you will not be allowed to endorse candidates for the A-27 election cycle.

The A-27 election cycle endorsement window opens on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, at 6 a.m. Eastern at this Interim Meeting (I-25), and closes on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 5 p.m. Central (just prior to the opening of A-26).
