2022 Annual Meeting of the HOD: June 18 Speakers' Update

COVID testing and positive tests

We were glad to see you in person for the first time in over two years, after the gap caused by the virus and the virtual, special meetings. It was wonderful to experience the fellowship and discussions once again.

That said, we are aware that some Annual Meeting attendees have tested positive for COVID-19 following the meeting. This is disheartening, but not surprising given the contagion and current transmission rates of the Omicron variants. We remind attendees that, as with all large meetings or travel, it is prudent to test oneself upon return and again a few days later. Individuals who test positive may wish to reach out to those with whom they had close contact. We encourage all to hesitate sharing other individuals’ health information on social media or in other communications.

As you know, the Board of Trustees implemented a health and safety protocol that included primary vaccination, boosting, testing (and retesting), as well as medical grade masking. We hope that the transmission remains low and that anyone who becomes ill has minimal symptoms and recovers quickly.

Thank you.
