Gavel resting next to immigration law book.

In support of the health, safety and well-being of both undocumented and documented immigrants, the AMA submits extensive comment letters to the Administration, provides comprehensive statements for Congressional hearings, submits amicus briefs in federal courts, and makes powerful statements to the press. And we will continue to fight.

The AMA believes every individual, regardless of immigration status, deserves timely, accessible, quality health care.

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)

The AMA strongly supports the DACA program which protects more than 700,000 undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children from deportation and enables them to obtain work permits.
