AMA members serve as organized medicine leaders

Two AMA members were recently appointed by external organizations to leadership positions. These individuals were nominated by the AMA to the respective organizations. Each organization made the final appointment decision from among the candidates it received.

Nyapati R. Rao, MD, Massapequa, New York, has been appointed to the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, effective January 2015.  Dr. Rao has been an AMA member for 19 years. Read more about this appointment at AMA Wire®.

Michael S. Bednar, MD, Maywood, Illinois, has been appointed to the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, effective October 2014.  Dr. Bednar has been an AMA member for 12 years.
