Statement attributable to:
Susan R. Bailey, M.D.
American Medical Association President

“The AMA applauds the Biden administration for lifting unnecessary restrictions that required in-person dispensing of mifepristone amid the COVID-19 pandemic. This move ensures the health and safety of patients seeking access to the drug, especially those from marginalized communities that have been hardest hit by the pandemic. We are pleased that the reversal of this rule, which the AMA and other leading health organizations called for in letters and litigation, supports physicians’ ability to provide safe, high quality, accessible reproductive care for our patients.”
