2025 Interim Meeting of the HOD: Oct. 9 Speakers' Update

| 4 Min Read

The 2025 Interim Meeting of the AMA House of Delegates will be held Nov. 14-18, 2025, at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. We encourage you to regularly check the HOD Interim Meeting page, which will be updated as information becomes available.

HOD Handbook

The 2025 Interim Meeting HOD Delegate Handbook is now posted on the HOD Interim Meeting page. All items of business that were received by the Sept. 30 on-time resolution deadline are included. It is posted in smaller documents collated by reference committee and will be posted as a single large document next week. An abridged spreadsheet containing only the recommendations from reports and the resolve clauses from resolutions is also available in an open document which can be transferred to a Google sheet, Excel or other formats as desired.

Late (received after the Sept. 30 deadline) and AMA section-excepted resolutions will be distributed in the meeting tote at the interim meeting on Nov. 15, 2025.

Online Reference Committees

Online Reference Committees (ORCs) will open Thursday, Oct. 9, at 5 p.m. Central, and can be accessed from the HOD Interim Meeting page once available. All AMA members may comment on the ORC, and it is hoped a robust discussion will ensue. Authors are encouraged to comment as early as possible after the ORC opens. All posts should begin with the information listed below IN ALL CAPS. Posts that are not appropriately identified will be removed.

  • NAME
  • CURRENT ROLES (E.G., AUTHOR, HOD DELEGATE OR ALTERNATE FROM X DELEGATION, SECTION MEMBER, COUNCIL MEMBER, ETC.)
  • FOR WHOM YOU ARE SPEAKING (AS AN INDIVIDUAL OR ON BEHALF OF A GROUP)

The ORCs will close for general comments on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 5 p.m. Central. Authors may continue to comment until Thursday, Oct. 30, at 5 p.m. Central. Any non-author posts made after the Oct. 29 posting deadline will not be considered.

Preliminary reference committee reports

Preliminary reference committee reports, which will include preliminary recommendations, will be developed by your reference committees following the close of the ORCs. Preliminary reports will be posted on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, by 5 p.m. Central.

As a pilot for I-25, the reference committee agenda for the in-person reference committee hearings will be treated as a consent agenda. All items that do not have a preliminary recommendation will be discussed in addition to those items extracted from the agenda.

Late resolution submission reminder

Resolutions submitted after the Sept. 30 on-time deadline are considered late, with the exception of AMA section resolutions adopted by the section after this deadline. Late resolutions will be reviewed by the Committee on Rules and Credentials and must be urgent in nature (i.e., cannot wait until the next meeting). Late resolutions require a two-thirds majority vote by the HOD to be considered. Any urgent resolutions that have been adopted by your group since the on-time deadline should be submitted as soon as possible.

Registration reminder

Advanced online registration is required for all attendees and their guests and children. To register, visit the HOD Interim Meeting page. You will need to sign in to the AMA website to register. Registration should be completed by all attendees to attest to abide by our Code of Conduct. Participants must also attest for their guests.

Attendees must personally complete their registration. It should not be completed by other individuals. Your name on your badge will appear exactly as you type it into the system. Please do not use all caps or all lowercase letters.

The deadline has now passed for groups to submit information about their intent to endorse candidates for the A-27 election cycle. The official list of endorsing groups is posted on the HOD candidates endorsement information page. A-27 candidates may not be endorsed by a group that is not on this posted list.
