Can you help solve today’s most complicated global health problems? Team up with your friends for a competition to win a chance to provide high quality health services to underserved populations across the globe. Participate March 27-April 6.
Teams of two to five pre-med students, medical students and residents as well as students in allied health fields are invited to enter the MedPlus Advantage Global Health Challenge by answering the contest question in 500 words or fewer. The question will be posted on the contest website March 27-April 6. Up to 10 finalist teams then will be selected to create a video to be placed on the contest’s site, and one winning team will be selected by a panel of judges. The winners will be announced later this spring.
The winning team will get to work in Ecuador, Guatemala or the Dominican Republic, along with Timmy Global Health (TGH), to provide health services to underserved populations. Winners also will be able to serve as a volunteer TGH health adviser and collaborate with TGH to deploy funds to help alleviate health challenges faced by underserved communities around the globe.
“I warn you that this experience will stay with you for a lifetime,” said 2012 winner Jenna Quill. “You will be consumed by the challenge … curious about the cultures of other countries, and most importantly, you will be inspired to help others indefinitely.”
Pre-register on the contest website to start preparing your entry. The contest is sponsored by AMA Insurance Agency, Inc.
