Heather Farley, MD

Heather Farley, MD, MHCDS, FACEP, vice president of professional satisfaction, AMA

Dr. Farley is an innovative and systems-focused physician executive dedicated to transforming health care delivery by redesigning the environments in which care is delivered. In her role at the AMA, she leads national strategy for initiatives such as the Joy in Medicine® Recognition Program and the Organizational Biopsy®, aimed at radically improving professional satisfaction for physicians and care teams. 

Dr. Farley previously served as the inaugural chief well-being officer at both ChristianaCare and the Medical University of South Carolina, where she built and operationalized comprehensive well-being infrastructures, launched one of the nation’s first peer support programs, and led large-scale culture change initiatives. A recognized national leader in clinician well-being and workforce transformation, Dr. Farley brings over two decades of clinical and operational experience to her work—always with the goal of restoring purpose, meaning, and joy to the practice of medicine.


Jane F. Fogg, MD

Jane F. Fogg, MD, MPH, physician director of organizational transformation, AMA

Dr. Fogg is a physician leader and executive with broad experience leading health care delivery, focusing on primary care, systems redesign and value-based delivery models. Prior to her current position with the AMA, she was the executive chair of internal medicine at Atrius Health, an innovative value-based health care leader in Massachusetts and a member of Optum.

 


Kevin Hopkins, MD

Kevin Hopkins, MD, family medicine physician, Cleveland Clinic, and physician director, health system engagement, AMA

Dr. Hopkins is a recognized leader and national speaker in the fields of caregiver burnout and ambulatory practice redesign and transformation. In addition to his work with the AMA and Cleveland Clinic, he holds an academic appointment with Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine, teaches within the Cleveland Clinic Family Medicine Residency Program and is a faculty instructor for the Cleveland Clinic Global Leadership and Learning Institute.


Michele Thomas, MD

Michele Thomas, MD, FAAFP

Dr. Thomas works with both EMR and IS teams to optimize the integration of technology and data in the clinical setting. Since early 2020, a large part of her work has been with BJC’s virtual care team focused on enabling providers and patients to connect virtually and seamlessly. An additional area of focus revolves around provider efficiency and wellness, focusing on reducing the administrative and cognitive burdens related to documentation and patient communication. Dr. Thomas is board certified in both family medicine and clinical informatics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
