Thomas J. Madejski, MD, who was elected to the American Medical Association Board of Trustees in June 2020, has been involved with organized medicine for more than 20 years. A board-certified internist, Dr. Madejski has been a delegate representing New York in the AMA House of Delegates for the past 15 years.

In 2015 Dr. Madejski was elected to the AMA Council of Medical Service. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, and a past president of the Orleans County Medical Society.

Dr. Madejski has served the Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY) as president, vice president and treasurer. He also has served MSSNY as commissioner of socio-medical economics and as vice-chair of MSSNY’s Legislative and Physician Advocacy Committee. In 2019 Dr. Madejski was named to the “Health Care Power 50” list by City & State New York magazine, which recognized the most influential health care figures in New York politics.

Dr. Madejski received a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from the School of Pharmacy, State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo, and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the School of Medicine, SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse where he completed his residency in internal medicine. Dr. Madejski served as chief resident in the Department of Medicine, and in 1990 he was named a diplomat of the American Board  of Internal Medicine. He holds additional certifications in the areas of geriatric medicine and hospice and palliative medicine.

In addition to currently serving as chief of medicine at Medina Memorial Hospital in Medina, N.Y., Dr. Madejski also serves as medical director at The Villages of Orleans Health and Rehabilitation Center in Albion, N.Y., and is a clinical instructor in medicine at the University of Rochester and a clinical instructor in pharmacy at the University of Buffalo. Dr. Madejski resides in Albion with his wife, Sandra.
