As a fourth-year medical student at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, Wisc., Kylie Ruprecht is proud to provide a medical student perspective on the American Medical Association Board of Trustees.
Raised in Maple Grove, Minn., Ruprecht’s AMA involvement began during her first year of medical school when she became inspired by the association’s goal of ensuring physicians and their patients have a strong voice in shaping medicine. Throughout her medical training she has demonstrated a commitment to leadership, advocacy and service, and has made her commitment actionable and concrete by pursuing institutional paths of distinction in both public health and research. The integration of public health and scholarly work alongside her clinical training has shaped her aspiration to become a physician advocate advancing patient care and the medical profession.
Within the AMA Medical Student Section (MSS), where she served as the at-large officer on the AMA-MSS Governing Council and the co-chair of the Region 2 delegation, Ruprecht has held roles on various reference committees and task forces and been hands on in writing resolutions and advocating on a wide range of topics including pediatric nutrition, women’s reproductive health and medical student loan caps.
In addition to her advocacy work at the national level, Ruprecht is actively involved with the Wisconsin Medical Society, where she previously served two terms on their Medical Student Section Governing Council and held the position of medical student representative on the Wisconsin Medical Society Board of Directors.
