The AMA Prediabetes Quality Measure set includes three (3) electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs):

  1. Screening for Abnormal Glucose Metabolism in Patients at Risk of Developing Diabetes
  2. Diabetes Prevention Interventions for Patients at High-Risk for Developing Diabetes
  3. Diabetes Prevention among Patients at High-Risk for Developing Diabetes

The AMA Prediabetes Quality Measure set serves as a means of both assessing and incentivizing high-quality diabetes preventive care.

Specific areas of focus include screening for abnormal glucose, referring to/providing evidence-based interventions, and identifying those at high risk who do not progress to type 2 diabetes.
