The Young Physicians Section (YPS) seeks to strengthen the value of AMA membership for young physicians by:
- Enhancing young physician practice of medicine, including the transition into practice
- Facilitating the participation of young physicians in policymaking and other activities of the AMA and the Federation of Medicine
- Promoting young physician leadership throughout organized medicine
Membership
AMA physician members under 40 years of age or within the first 8 years of professional practice after residency and fellowship training are automatically members of YPS. YPS currently has more than 26,000 members.
