Maya Dunson, a member of the Medical Student Section (MSS), is the student representative on the Underrepresented in Medicine Advocacy Section (UMAS) Governing Council.

The MSS is a member interest group within the AMA for medical students. The governing council is responsible for directing MSS efforts at the national level to improve medical education and advocate for the future of medicine.

Dunson earned her bachelor’s degree in biology with a neuroscience minor from Loyola University Chicago, a master’s of public health from Valparaiso University, and is currently a medical student at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
