Education & updates

The section hosted an education session, “Translating Clinical Evidence into Practice: Standards of Care in Emerging-Evidence Settings,” which examined how to responsibly apply standards of care under uncertainty while maintaining ethical integrity and patient trust.

The section also heard updates from the AMA Board of Trustees and a variety of partners, including GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ+ Equality, AMPAC, the AMA Foundation and the AMA Career Advancement Collective.

Business

The section reviewed items of business under consideration by the House of Delegates that impact LGBTQ+ medical students, physicians and patients.

Additionally, the section elected Matthew Lecuyer, MD, MPH, and Brian Grady, MD, as the YPS liaison and member at-large members, respectively, of the LGBTQ+ Section Governing Council.
