The inaugural AMA Insight Network Summit is designed for physician executives from AMA Health System Program partner organizations. 

The invitation-only summit offers a unique opportunity to engage in peer-to-peer insights, share best practices through presentations and collaborate on challenges facing physician-led organizations.

Attendees are encouraged to attend the AMA Integrated Physician Practice Section (IPPS) Annual Meeting the following day. This forum fosters discussions on shaping the future of physician-led, integrated care.

James Blum, MD

James Blum, MD

Dr. Blum serves as the chief health information officer at the University of Iowa Health Care (UIHC), where he leads enterprise-wide digital transformation for one of the nation’s top academic health systems. Since 2020, he has aligned clinical, operational and technological priorities to elevate Epic EHR performance into the top 20% nationally, implemented AI-driven workflow enhancements, and established an integrated clinical informatics governance structure to accelerate technology adoption across departments. He has spearheaded the internal development and deployment of predictive AI models significantly impacting clinical outcomes, including reductions in hospital-acquired pressure injuries and improved palliative care coordination.

He is a nationally recognized clinical informatics leader and physician-executive with extensive board, advisory and academic engagement across health care IT and research communities. He serves on multiple national advisory boards, including ARCHIMED and HealthLeaders, and actively contributes to AMIA’s and SCCM Discovery’s research efforts.

John Fink, MD

John Fink, MD, MSHQS

Dr. Fink is a board-certified family physician and the vice president for quality and medical affairs at Bayhealth Medical Center. He has been a member of the medical staff at Bayhealth’s Kent Campus since coming to Delaware in 2000 with the United States Air Force. He is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Medicine and holds a master’s degree in Healthcare Quality and Safety from the College of Population Health at Thomas Jefferson University.

Suzanna Fox, MD

Suzanna Fox, MD

Dr. Fox is the chief physician executive for the NC/GA Division of Advocate Health, where she has responsibility for behavioral health, surgical services, women’s health, children’s care, adult medical specialties MSK, emergency medicine, anesthesia, and primary care. She oversees concierge and executive health and is also responsible for ambulatory nursing and advanced practice providers/clinicians for the division.

Dr. Fox is the Advocate Health leader for the Best Place to Care strategy. This work involves ensuring the organization is caring for its caregivers so they can focus on caring for patients. Dr. Fox is well-versed in physician compensation and leads this ongoing work in the Greater Charlotte Market and Southeast Region.

With over 25 years of leadership experience in OB/GYN practice, Dr. Fox has served as the leader for Women's Health throughout the Atrium Health footprint where she was an advocate for her fellow OB/GYN professionals.

Margaret Lozovatsky, MD

Margaret Lozovatsky, MD

Dr.  Lozovatsky is the vice president of digital health at the American Medical Association. Dr. Lozovatsky is a nationally recognized leader in health care informatics and has a passion for using technology to improve patient care. Dr. Lozovatsky is a member of the Advisory Board for the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems. In 2021, she was inducted as a Fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association (FAMIA). In 2023, Dr. Lozovatsky received the HIMSS-AMDIS Changemaker in Health Care Physician Executive Award. Dr. Lozovatsky is one of the inaugural members of the Physician Advisory Board at Epic and currently sits on the Epic Physician Wellness Advisory Board. Dr. Lozovatsky also serves as a pediatric hospitalist at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she continues to care for patients. She is board certified in pediatrics and clinical informatics.

Manu Malhotra, MD

Manu Malhotra, MD, MBA

Dr. Malhotra is the senior vice president and regional chief medical officer (CMO) for Henry Ford Health. In this role, he provides strategic and clinical leadership and direction to ensure the highest levels of quality and clinical access for the communities we serve. He is responsible for fostering innovation and growth, driving top-tier quality, safety, and experience, and enhancing the efficiency and value of care across the enterprise. In his previous role, his ability to operationalize quality and customer service enhancements helped improve quality metrics across the system and drive Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital to best-in-class outcomes across multiple domains of performance and engagement. He has a long track record of building and leading high-functioning teams and bringing various stakeholders together to optimize care-delivery and joy in medicine.

Dr. Malhotra is an emergency physician and previously served as interim chief medical officer for Henry Ford Health, CMO for Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital, as well as associate CMO for Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

Philip M. Oravetz, MD

Philip M. Oravetz, MD, MPH, MBA 

Dr. Oravetz joined Ochsner Health in 2012 with over 20 years of innovative health care leadership experience in both administration and medicine. As chief population health officer at Ochsner Health in New Orleans, Louisiana, Dr. Oravetz provides physician leadership to the system’s portfolio of value-based contracts, which span the spectrum from commercial shared savings to full risk capitation in Medicare Advantage. As an experienced medical professional in integrated care delivery, Dr. Oravetz serves as lead in development of Ochsner’s Population Risk Management Model and medical action planning initiatives. Dr. Oravetz is a highly respected and distinguished speaker at industry conferences and medical management educational events.

Dr. Oravetz earned his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Yale University, medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, residency at Brown University, Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology from the University of California-Los Angeles, School of Public Health and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of California-Irvine, Graduate School of Management.

Ben Wolfe

Ben Wolfe

Wolfe is senior director, digital transformation at Rush. He is responsible for developing and implementing the enterprise digital transformation strategy, ensuring that Rush is delivering on its commitment to create best in class digital experiences for its patients, caregivers, employees, students and communities—making health care simpler, easier, and more convenient for all. Prior to joining Rush, Wolfe led the digital health strategy and implementation practice for a respected national consulting firm, and worked in technology leadership roles with multiple academic health systems.

Tom Yackel, MD

Tom Yackel, MD, MPH, MS, MBA

Dr. Yackel is a seasoned physician executive with a distinguished career in clinical informatics, graduate medical education, and health system leadership. He currently serves as the chief clinical excellence officer for CenterWell Primary Care Organization, the largest senior-focused primary care group in the United States. CenterWell delivers comprehensive, team-based care to older adults through a value-based, full-risk model, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered outcomes for Medicare Advantage populations across the country. In his role at CenterWell, Dr. Yackel leads initiatives to advance evidence-based care, specialty programs, clinical education, informatics, and clinical governance.

Dr. Yackel earned his medical and public health degrees from George Washington University and holds additional qualifications in medical informatics and business from OHSU. He is a recognized thought leader in electronic health records, value-based care, and clinical leadership, frequently sharing insights through publications and national presentations.
