AMA members serve as leaders in organized medicine

These AMA members were recently appointed by external organizations to leadership positions. These individuals were nominated by the AMA to the respective organizations. Each organization made the final appointment decision from among the candidates it received.

William S. Black-Schaffer, MD, Boston, has been appointed to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Review Committee for Pathology, effective July 2015. Dr. Black-Schaffer has been an AMA member for 25 years.

Warren P. Newton, MD, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, has been appointed to the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, effective July 2015. Dr. Newton has been an AMA member for 5 years.

Kenneth E. Rosenzweig, MD, New York, has been appointed to the ACGME Review Committee for Radiation Oncology, effective July 2015. Dr. Rosenzweig has been an AMA member for 8 years.

Kenneth B. Simons, MD, Mequon, Wisconsin, has been appointed to the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, effective July 2015. Dr. Simons has been an AMA member for 26 years.

Katherine M. Tynus, MD, Chicago, has been appointed to the ACGME Transitional Year Review Committee, effective July 2015. Dr. Tynus has been an AMA member for 14 years.
