The following statement is attributable to:
Jack Resneck Jr., M.D.
President, American Medical Association

"Decreased life expectancy due to COVID-19, heart disease and the ongoing drug overdose epidemic provide a sobering reminder that our nation must fully embrace an evidence-driven, public health approach to these issues. The AMA strongly urges all Americans to get vaccinatedknow their blood pressure numbers, and to support readily available naloxone to save people from overdose. These simple steps can help save thousands of lives and improve the health of the nation.”
