STEPS Forward Pearl of the Week

Creating a medical assistant (MA) professional development program in your practice will empower MAs to contribute more meaningfully to the practice team and promote life-long learning for the medical assistants. When developing a program, be sure to solicit input about training needs from the MAs and other members of the care team. Commit to providing monthly sessions for a year, with each session running 45 minutes to an hour.
