David Ortiz, MD

David Ortiz, MD, a member of the Young Physicians Section (YPS) of the AMA, is the young physician representative on the Underrepresented in Medicine Advocacy Section (UMAS) Governing Council.

The YPS is a member interest group within the AMA for physicians under 40 years of age or within the first eight years of professional practice after residency and fellowship training. 

Dr. Ortiz earned his bachelor’s degree in biology at Texas A&M University and his MD at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. He is a board-certified family medicine physician and is currently practicing in Brownsville, Texas.
