Luis Seija, MD, a postdoctoral fellow in the National Clinician Scholars Program at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, holds the position of delegate on the Underrepresented in Medicine Advocacy Section (UMAS) Governing Council at the American Medical Association.
The UMAS is a member interest group within the AMA dedicated to addressing the issues and concerns of underrepresented minority physicians and improving the health of minority populations.
Dr. Seija practices medicine as an attending hospitalist with a focus on medical education. Dr. Seija is a native of Austin, Texas, and a proud Texan, earning his bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin and MD from Texas A&M University School of Medicine. He completed a combined internal medicine-pediatrics residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.
