A note from the IMGS chair
August 2025
From IMGS Chair Roopa Naik, MD
Governing council events
This month, the IMGS Governing Council will be coming together to review and refine our strategic plan for the year ahead at the upcoming Section Leadership Retreat, beginning Aug. 1–3.
The AMA Distinguish Yourself IMG Summit on Aug. 7 is a unique and exciting opportunity designed to offer IMG-focused sessions on leadership, research, advocacy and navigating the Match process as an IMG.
These events are incredible opportunities to connect with passionate physician leaders, share ideas and collaborate on initiatives that shape the future of organized medicine. I am especially excited to engage with fellow IMGs, exchange insights, and grow together as advocates and change-makers within the AMA.
IMG recognition
A key goal of mine this year is to celebrate the remarkable contributions of our IMG members. If you know an IMG who deserves recognition—or if that person is you—don’t hesitate to reach out. I am excited to showcase the inspiring leaders making a difference within our IMG community.
Feedback requested
Our section and members have a lot going on, and one of my top priorities this year is to hear directly from you. The voice of young physicians is essential to shaping the future of medicine. To better serve you as your representative, I would love your thoughts on these key questions:
- What inspires you about the AMA?
- Where do you think we can do better?
- How do you envision the future of our section?
Please send feedback to [email protected].
