Niranjan Rao, MD

Niranjan Rao, MD, FACS, is a board certified vascular and general surgeon with Saint Peter’s Physician Associates and the chief medical officer at Saint Peter’s Healthcare System. He was a council member of the American Medical Association’s Council on Medical Education from 2014 to 2022, including serving as the chair from 2021 to 2022. He is currently the AMA HOD delegation chair for the Medical Society of New Jersey.

The IPPS is a member interest group within the AMA for physician leaders in physician-led integrated systems. The section governing council is responsible for directing the IPPS effort at the national level to demonstrate the value of physician-led, coordinated systems of care.
