Members of the Integrated Physician Practice Section (IPPS) convened during the 2026 Annual Meeting of the AMA on Friday, June 5, in Chicago, Illinois. The meeting featured a combination of timely educational programming, policy discussions and AMA updates.
To open the meeting, the IPPS elected Niranjan V. Rao, MD, FACS, chief medical officer at Saint Peter's Healthcare System in New Jersey, who ran unopposed for the IPPS Governing Council Small/Medium Group Representative seat.
The IPPS hosted two highly engaging educational sessions, each drawing more than 80 attendees. The first, Prescribing Change: Pharmacy Strategy in Value-Based Care, and the second, a collaboration with OMSS titled Technology in Practice: Real-World Implementation Across Health Systems and Hospitals. Both generated strong audience engagement and lively discussion during the Q&A segments.
The IPPS continued its policy work by discussing several resolutions and reports under consideration by the AMA House of Delegates, including one IPPS-sponsored resolution:
- Res. 108 – Ensuring Physician Input in the Development of CMMI Models
The meeting concluded with updates from the Board of Trustees, advocacy and AMPAC, along with an introduction to the newly launched Career Advancement Collective (CAC) — a suite of educational programs and training designed to support physicians at every stage of their career.
